What to Expect: A Step-by-Step Guide

Before Your Session

Booking Your Appointment
When you book your massage, we’ll ask a few simple questions to understand your needs and preferences. Every woman’s journey to wellness is unique, and we want to make sure your session is tailored to you.

Arriving at Hillcrest Hideaway
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into our peaceful, home-based studio—a quiet retreat designed just for women. There’s no waiting room, so when you arrive, simply park near the basketball goal and wait in your car. We’ll call or text when we’re ready to welcome you inside.

Once inside, you’ll have time to settle in, ask questions, and share any thoughts or concerns. This is your space, and we want you to feel at home.

During Your Session

Meeting Your Therapist
You’ll meet Heather Blose, your licensed massage therapist, who will walk you through what to expect and answer any last-minute questions. We’ll discuss any areas of discomfort and your goals for the session.

Undressing: Your Comfort Comes First
You only undress to your comfort level. Whether that means keeping some clothing on or fully disrobing under the sheets, you are always respected and in control. You will be draped with a soft, clean sheet, and only the area being worked on will ever be exposed.

Massage Begins: A Gentle Start
Your session will begin. Throughout the massage, I will check in to ensure you feel comfortable with the pressure and techniques used. This is a time for you to let go and receive care.

Your Role: Simply Breathe and Receive
There’s nothing you need to do—just breathe, relax, and allow yourself to be cared for. If you’d like more or less pressure or need anything adjusted, simply let me know. Your comfort is my priority.

After Your Session

Post-Massage Relaxation
After your massage, you’ll have a few quiet moments to recenter and reconnect before getting dressed. There’s no rush—take your time.

Feedback & Questions
I love hearing how you felt during the session! Your feedback helps me make each experience even better. If you have questions or concerns, I’m always here to help.

Hydrate & Take It Easy
I’ll remind you to drink plenty of water and be kind to yourself for the rest of the day. Massage is a healing experience, and your body may need a little extra time to adjust.

Common Concerns & Reassurances

“What if I’m too anxious to relax?”
That’s okay! Many women feel this way at first. I will guide you gently, allowing you to relax at your own pace. There’s no pressure—just a safe space to unwind.

"Will it hurt?"
Massage should never be painful. I will use a gentle and intuitive approach, adjusting the pressure based on your comfort. If anything ever feels too intense, just let me know—I will adjust immediately.

“I feel self-conscious about my body.”
Hillcrest Hideaway is a judgment-free zone. Every woman deserves to feel safe and cared for. You will always be draped respectfully, and my focus is on helping you feel relaxed, not self-conscious.

“What if I don’t like it?”
This is your experience. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, you can ask to stop or adjust the session. Your well-being comes first.

Tips for First-Timers

  • Communicate Your Needs – Share your preferences, concerns, and any health conditions so I can tailor the session to you.

  • Breathe Deeply – Deep breathing helps your body relax and enhances the benefits of massage.

  • Stay Hydrated – Drinking water before and after your session supports your body’s natural healing process.

  • Come as You Are – No need to prepare or be anyone other than yourself. This is your time to be cared for, just as you are.

Final Reassurance

Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish—it’s essential. At Hillcrest Hideaway, I am honored to hold space for women to rest, heal, and reconnect with themselves. I look forward to welcoming you into this sacred space of peace, comfort, and self-care.
